Annual General Meeting

The first half of tonight's meeting will be the Annual General Meeting, where we go through some formal items required of an association, including a review of achievements over the past year and election of a new Management Committee. You can read the minutes from the last AGM and the Treasurer's Report for this year on the Our Records page on the website.

After a short break, we will have guest speaker Jen Acklin from Queensland Conservation Council on their campaign to establish an Environmental Protection Agency for Queensland.

Jen’s role at QCC as Organising Coordinator is focused on bringing an organised approach to how they work together across QCC’s member groups. She has over 20 years’ experience in the union movement and in community organising. Jen has worked with a broad range of community organisations, faith organisations and unions to help identify and nurture leadership potential and build collaborative power to run campaigns for long lasting change. She co-founded the Sydney Alliance which is a broad-based coalition of civil sector organisations building relationships across diversity to act together for the common good. Jen is passionate about building power for justice, nature and our climate.

Please note: you must have an active (paid) membership subscription to vote for Management Committee candidates if there are multipled nominees for the same position.

You can check your membership status on the BIEPA.online website by logging in and selecting My Membership from the profile menu (top-right on every page). If it has expired, you can renew on the Join page by selecting a membership plan and providing payment details (credit card or PayPal). Or you can pay on the night.
