About the event
This will be a workshop for BIEPA members run by an independent facilitator. We will be brainstorming practical ideas for having a tangible impact on the problem of beach traffic on Bribie Island. We will be drawing on a long history of campaigning by past BIEPA members, especially John and Diane Oxenford, to inform any decisions on which actions to take forward. Please come along if you have ideas for specific actions we could take that align with our strategy of getting the community and government on our side to get results.
The workshop will be facilitated by Jen Acklin, Organising Coordinator with Queensland Conservation Council (QCC), and Kim Chatterjee, a design researcher who is a volunteer with QCC's Member Support Team.
The goals of the workshop are to:
- collectively agree some campaign goals;
- begin developing an agreed strategy; and
- identify initial actions and a follow up plan to progress the strategy.
For us to make this time as productive as possible, we need anyone who is intending to participate to:
- review the background documentation that will be shared beforehand; and
- be ready to take on some actions from the day.
This workshop will form the basis of the ongoing working group around this issue, so there's an expectation we will all be taking some kind of action to help us progress this issue together.
