Be part of something big at our annual celebration of turtle nesting season. This year, BIEPA joins forces with the Bribie Island Surf Life Saving Club to highlight the urgent need to protect critically endangered marine turtles nesting in Bribie’s dunes.

About the event
Get ready for a fun and inspiring day at the BIEPA Giant Turtle event — where nature and community come together to celebrate our island’s most beloved marine visitors!
There’ll be fun turtle-riffic activities where the kids can:
Meet Carrie our life-size loggerhead turtle
Be a junior citizen scientist
Add to our Turtle Mural
Measure-up against the Turtle Totem
PLUS OTHER FUN ACTIVITIES!
Visit the information stalls to learn about turtle, nesting beaches, and what we can all do to help .Meet local conservation volunteers and join in the excitement as the crowd is welcomed and gathers to create the giant turtle formation on the beach, this year with the help of the Bribie Nippers— a spectacular symbol of community care for our ancient mariners.

This year's location is Woorim Foreshore, next to the Surf Club, with the turtle formed on Woorim Beach with the help of Bribie Island SLSC's Nippers.
Kids activities and information stalls start at 8:00am, Giant Turtle formation begins at 8:45am.
