Joondoburri Walk by Bribie Kindy, 34 Cotterill Ave, Bongaree QLD 4507, Australia

About the event

This event is becoming an annual tradition for Bribie Islanders. It is tremendously uplifting with acknowledgements of country and elders, smoking ceremony and dancing and singing from young people. It is proving to be a really affirming way to reflect honestly while celebrating the occasion.

BIEPA has been a partner in this initiative since its inception. Our role on Bribie is to stimulate awareness of the needs of nature, to protect flora and fauna, promote best management practices, and encourage our whole community to join us in that mission. To that end, our partnership with Pumicestone Indigenous Employment & Education Council (PIEEC) broadens our engagement with our community, and importantly, in this particular relationship, acknowledges the central place of cultural heritage in our environmental efforts.

If you're a BIEPA member and can help at this event, please register for reminders and updates. Event times shown here are for our volunteers; the advertised start of the event is 9:30 for 10am.
