When and where

19 Sept 2022, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Rhys's Place, 36 Spowers St, Bongaree QLD 4507, Australia

About the event

We'll clear marine debris from one section of a 6km stretch of beach on the southern end of the island. We need as many hands as possible to cover as much of that stretch as we can each time.

The debris collected will be sorted and catalogued for Tangaroa Blue, a research project also known as the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI). Their goal is to tackle the problem at its source by building a database of marine debris that tells them where most of it is coming from.

Please note that the dates and times for this event may change, depending on tides and weather. We will update thoe details closer to each fortnightly event.

This project has been assisted by a Queensland Government Community Sustainability Grant.
