Come and help clean up Red Beach by collecting marine debris left after the floods. This will be the last of a series of clean up days covering about 6km of the beach.
When and where
28 Nov 2022, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Rhys's Place, 36 Spowers St, Bongaree QLD 4507, Australia
About the event
We'll clear marine debris from the last section of a 6km stretch of beach on the southern end of the island. We need as many hands as possible to cover as much of that stretch as we can each time.
Meet Rhys at 9am at 36 Spowers St, Bongaree, or alternatively you can join at 9:20am at Oxley Place car park, Sandstone Point (off Bestman Rd).
The debris collected will be sorted and catalogued for Tangaroa Blue, a research project also known as the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI). Their goal is to tackle the problem at its source by building a database of marine debris that tells them where most of it is coming from.
Please note that the dates and times for this event may change, depending on tides and weather. Please register to get reminders and updates by email.
