About the event
The workshop program objectives are to raise awareness of the Moreton Bay Ramsar Wetland, its values, ecosystems and flora and fauna, and provide participants with the knowledge and skills to improve their practice around planning, working, and volunteering in Ramsar sites, in this case associated with the SEQ region.
Workshop program topics:
- About Ramsar - including definitions within the Ramsar framework, 3 Pillars of Ramsar, wetland types, frameworks and Ramsar Information Sheets (RIS).
- Ramsar Criteria - the 9 criteria used to define internationally significant wetlands, and their applicability to the Moreton Bay Ramsar Site.
- Ecology - the ecology and shorebirds of various wetlands in the Moreton Bay Ramsar Site.
- Practical Application - the implications for participants to assist in planning, working on, and evaluating their projects.
