Caboolture and District Animal Welfare Inc. (CADAWI) is a prominent member of the Bribie business community, serving a fundamental need to provide pet owners with ethical and responsible support.

In a visionary gesture, the Organisation’s Committee led by President Margaret Tripp, with encouragement from Secretary Deb Miles have made a generous $2000 donation to BIEPA.

Margaret said “our core business is the welfare of dogs and cats, and this includes helping people ensure pets are managed responsibly in the natural environment”.

BIEPA President Richard Ogden said “this alignment is timely and important, two community organisations in partnership to support better outcomes for both domestic animals and Bribie’s nature”.

The donation will support BIEPA in our entirely volunteer turtle awareness program, which requires more than $10,000 every year for simple logistics.

Wildlife Team Leader Darren Jew said such donations are vital. “The innovations we have put in place in recent years are making a very significant impact on the protection of Bribie’s nesting turtles. Without support, these incredible animals with whom we are privileged to share the Island will be lost forever”.

In an independent demonstration of support, community member Deb Miles also held a successful pop-up Op Shop event, raising over $1300 for BIEPA’s turtle work. What a champion!

You can support CADAWI’s important mission by visiting its Op shop at Bribie Island Shopping Centre.
