Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, 191 Sunderland Dr, Banksia Beach QLD 4507, Australia
About the event
Enjoy an educational self-guided walk among the native wildflowers that thrive in Bribie Island's nutrient-poor soil. There will be information plaques describing the various flowers along the way. This is part of the Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival, even though only half of Bribie Island is in the Sunshine Council area, because these plants are so distinctive they deserve special attention!
Wear sun-safe clothing and come prepared to ooh and ahh at flowers! Ask our volunteers for insights into how these plants thrive in sandy soil, the various insects and other critters that depend on them, and the complex web of interdependencies with other species.
Please register if you are a BIEPA member and can volunteer to help on this day.
