Bribie Island Nature Festival… one week to go!
Counting down the days to the Bribie Island Nature Festival! Join us 9-11 October and explore the wildlife, waterways, art and stories of Yarun/Bribie Island.

Whether you’re curious about marine life, keen to get outdoors – or looking for a creative experience – there are plenty of ways to join in, including a range of free and low-cost events. Hear from the volunteers protecting our nesting turtles at The Turtle Custodians, or discover the aquaculture science happening on our doorstep at CSIRO Currents.
Head to Kakadu Beach for Wings Over the World and marvel at the migratory shorebirds that connect Bribie to distant shores. Put your curiosity to work at the Big Bribie Bird Count & Bribie Bioblitz, helping record the species that share our island home.
Explore how our community can respond to invasive species at Guardians of the Sanctuary, or discover a different perspective on our relationship with the sea through the art exhibition Our Landlord: The Ocean.
For a fresh view from the water, try Pumicestone Paddle: Discover Outrigger Canoeing, or join Gday Adventures to learn about the island’s fascinating coastal lakes and lagoons, or visit the island's unique habitats on the Hidden Bribie: fire-dependant Ecosystems Tour.
There’s room to slow down and get creative, too. Discover the satisfaction of bringing broken objects back to life at the communal Repair Ritual, and explore the community art installation Weaving Water: Looming.
These are just some of the ways to experience Bribie’s nature during the festival, so come along, follow your curiosity and discover something new about the island we love.
Spaces are limited and bookings are essential for most sessions. Explore the program and book your place at bribieislandnaturefestival.com.au.
